‘impermanence’
‘Impermanence’ is a series of photo-paintings in continuum, named after the infamous Buddhist doctrine that views life as a series of fleeting moments. As an ironic gesture, the series ‘impermanence’ makes permanent gestures that were made with water to evaporate away. By photographing these gestures and editing them, the series ‘impermanence’ reflects on our tendencies to fixate in life and hold onto meaning, and the difficulties we face in letting go.
